In order to facilitate a seamless adjustment to university life in Kenya, we urge all International students to:

Make contact with their embassy in Nairobi to find out about the easily accessible materials and assistance programs provided by the embassy of their home country, which will help them feel at home and connected. The University organises visits to respective embassies every year, please make sure to join your community's WhatsApp group for updates.

Take a guided tour of Nairobi city: Discover important buildings, parks, historical locations, and famous landmarks to help pupils understand the city's distinct personality and explore it with ease. to get used to their new surroundings: These first-semester programs are designed to help students settle into university life and create a feeling of community in their new settings.The University organises city tours for every intake, please make sure you join the International Student's WhatsApp group or mailing group for updates. Career Workshops.

In collaboration with the International Student's Affairs Office, the Career Development Services Office offers a comprehensive workshop program throughout your studies. This program is designed to support and guide you exploring, planning, and preparing for your career path. You will receive advice on both local and international opportunities, as well as guidance on the necessary documentation for obtaining work permits. Team Buildings.

Through fun activities, we help international students develop social skills and collaboration. These programs, which are run by the International Students Office, include group mountain climbs, park outings, and game days that give them a sense of community and welcome.

Sports Expeditions.

Take advantage of our broad sports program at our institution to improve your social and physical well-being.

You may get guidance in your sports endeavours from our highly skilled and committed coaching team, whether you're seeking recreational activities or competitive challenges.

Every major sport has a team that represents the university in league games and intercollegiate contests, which we are delighted to announce. All International students, regardless of country, are eligible for these possibilities. Students from abroad are especially welcome to take part!

Getting on a team is an excellent method to:

  2. Make connections with other students.
  3. and create enduring friendships.

To support your sporting endeavours, we have the international students football tournaments every year during the international students week. Buddy System.

What is the program about?

This program pairs newly arrived international students with current Strathmore students who act as your buddies. Your buddy will provide guidance and support throughout your academic journey, helping you navigate:

  • University life: Getting used to the academic standards, student life, and campus culture.
  • Living in Kenya: Getting by on a daily basis, acclimating to the surroundings, and getting to necessary supplies.
  • Social Integration: Making friends, interacting with other students, and taking part in extracurricular activities are all aspects of social integration.

  • Personalised support: Get direction and counsel from a fellow pupil who is aware of your particular circumstances.
  • Cultural exchange: Learn from your friend about university life and Kenyan culture.

How to Participate.

  • As soon as you register in our system: You'll be paired with a friend and immediately registered in the program.
  • Make contact with your friend: Make contact with your friend: The Office of the Dean of Students will arrange the first meeting.
  • Develop your partnership: Make the effort to get in touch with your friend, pose inquiries, and request assistance as required.
